Good cuban sandwiches
Even with it’s lackluster appearance from the outside, my family and I decided to give this place a chance because of the 4.1 ratings. That was a mistake! After receiving the menus, we took a seat and waited. After 12 minutes of not being attended too or even being offered a glass of water we decided to leave. As we walked out, we saw the same families that walked in with us in the same situation.Lack of attentiveness and even a simple visit to the table, to offer drinks would have been great. The simple things always matter and this place FALLS short.Good Luck to anyone that decides to visit but be ready to sit for a long time
Great food. Good value.
My first time here. Ordered the mondongo soup, a hearty Colombian beef tripe soup. Well seasoned, savory, generous pieces of beef and tripe. Flavor is good, the tripe is not too strong, very tender and very mild organ flavor that is blended with the seasoning perfectly. While not for everyone, this dish is well made. I'm going to ask if abuela (a grandmother) is cooking in the kitchen. A good portion that would be even more amazing at home on a cold winter day. Included is a side of plantains, rice, a tomato and some salad. Finished with a strong cortadito. Will definitely return to try some of the other dishes. Well done, Mi Tierra! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious authentic food. Very good soup. Their daily lunch specials are great.
A place to try Colombian and Cuban food. Small place but good service.
Best food in this area!!
Always a great place to eat Colombian food. I have been coming here for a few yrs. Great staff as well. Thank you guys.
My favorite Columbian Restaurant. My wife loves this place and I started going there with her. So many dishes, arepas and empanadas. Real fruit smoothies.
Cuban sandwich had very little meat loaded with mayo and mustard. Fries under cooked. Waitress was either dancing or in the back with the cook. There wont be a next time but if I dd I would bring plenty of singles for the dancing.
Good food , excelent prices. Slighty oversalted... Good hospitality...recommended
The food is good, actually REALLY good. I first visited with my wife and I liked the food so much I returned for a second time the very next day with my kids. The courtesy this time not so great. I was about to sit in a double table when I was told to sit in a single table even when there was only one other individual present. That, I can put up with but the thing that people have to WATCH OUT FOR is THE BILL. Unfortunately for me I trust the patrons of places I visit. They give me a bill, I look at the total and judge the tip from there. Mi Tierra Restaurant does something I have not seen before. They add the tip to the subtotal but the receipt still has that extra line for tips. I wasn’t fool once but twice and paid double tips. It is sad since I loved the food. I’d probably never return. I would have given them good business bringing friends and family often.
Wonderful service great food.
Good food and prices.
Nice roadside diner(?). Menus somewhat translated enough to know what you'd like. Sandwiches were really good! For two sandwiches, two empanadas and two sodas it was less than $15 with good sizes sandwiches. It did take a bit of time to be served. I was with a Spanish speaker but I believe they also speak English. Recommended to coworkers
The food here made me think of Colombia...and the spectacular food we ate while there.. The staff at Mi Tierra are extremely friendly and very kind hearted. All these things add up to just a wonderful little experience... My wife and I will be regulars for life !!
Good food
The food was excellent. I had the whole fried fish, Latin style - no breading.
Great food great service
Delicious food and great service!
Simple but delicious food, I do recommend
Very good food. I travel from miami just to have churrasco meat
Service was okay. The food had a freezer burn taste. This interior of the restaurant is very old and shabby. The parking area was very bad, lots of potholes. This establishment includes a tip into the bill.
Great food and service everytime I go
Place used to be great but has been in slow decline for the last few years. We went in today and sat for 20 minutes and were the only ones in the restaurant and got no service. No drink order, no telling us we need to wait no nothing. When we asked if the waiter would take our order she told us if we didnt like waiting to go find somewhere else. So we did!
I had the rice, black beans, boiled yucca and sweet plantains and it was amazing!
Good food but waitress add tip to the bill when we were group of 4 and its not full service, so I paid my bill when done eating and left
Food was good and very affordable! Staff was friendly.
Very good food and nice people. Best restaurant inTown
If I could leave ZERO stars I would. I usually give places 3 strikes before I stop going - everyone has bad days, but this one: they wracked up all 3+ strikes in one visit. Terrible food, terrible service, the place was FILTY and it was simply not worth the price. I had a Cuban Sandwich and a side of Maduros (fried sweet bananas) to go. It was $14. There was SO LITTLE meat on the sandwich, the value of it was probably $2. It had perhaps 1 oz of OLD & DRY meat, the bread was stale... and I waited 20 minutes for it. While I waited, I looked to see who else was waiting for food: no one. Everyone in the place had their food.I put all the filling on one side of the sandwich and ate about half of that....then threw it away. I didn't trust it. Turns out I was right not to. Later in the day I was nauseated and had gastrointestinal issues. The sandwich was the ONLY thing I had eaten that day.
We decided to stop on our way to the airport and found this delicious spot for lunch. We had the Palomilla Steak and the Chicken. The servers were lively and made this a great dining experience. When you want some authentic Colombian cooking, I would highly suggest checking this place out. We will return!
Great authentic Cuban and Colombian food.
Interesting food. If your craving spicy and lots of rice, go here. The Restraunt itself is pretty neat.
Adequate, clean. Good fair price. No Cuban coffee?
This restaurant isn't the same any more, parking lot need some improvement, restaurant need improvement to, tv no work and alor other stuff, customer service is so bad after alex live isn't the same anymore you get ther and you have to wait for so long and the female waiter is so rude, she need to get trained in how to deal with local and regular customers. food isn't good anymore, taste no fresh .. so sad this place going down i have very good memories there...
Delicious and fresh!!!! Best in town and reasonably priced!
Exceptional authentic Colombian food with great prices. A hidden gem - if I could give 6 stars I would.
Food was hot, fresh and delicious.
Awesome food n service
cuban was good not great. Service was good.
Well... where to start.... I was so excited to have Cuban food with a group of co workers on a lunch break. Walked in and the food looked great and smelled delicious. We sat down put in our orders and things started to go south. It took 25 minutes to get our drinks. 45 minutes later we still hadn't received our food. We ordered Cuban sandwiches, when does it take 105 minutes to make a Cuban? Meanwhile people who came in after us were being served huge plates of steak and eggs and everything under the sun. Eventually we just had to ask for our food to go so we could go back to work. The Cubans were sparse on meat and terrible. The only reason im giving this a 2 is because I also ordered blood sausage and chicarrones and those were good. So disappointed.
Food was excellent ; service was good , only thing was my water didnt have any ice in it , but aside from that -Awesome all around
I'm not intimately familiar with Cuban food, but my taste buds say that it was good. It's a humble spot. We were there on the late side and got very poor service although I would let that hold me back from trying them again.
I love this place! Authentic food and great people. I would highly recommend them.
Amazing experience. Loved the food, service was spectacular. Will probably eat here again soon enough :D
The best Colombian food in the area!! Wow, just wow...my husband would not stop eating, he is a picky eater... it was that good!! We have eaten at many Colombian and Cuban Restautants and none of them compares to this one. Great tasting food! Just go and try it for yourself, you will not regret it.
not so much.
Large menu and relatively cheap prices. My steak was overcooked; however, my friend’s dish was absolutely amazing! Definitely a place to check out if your on a budget. Good quantity of food compared to price
Just had a cold Malta , place is small and vintage .
Another great Colombian Restaurant in Sarasota. My favorite dish there is "Carne al Carbon."
